Steven Kovacs has been an avid underwater
photographer since 2001.
His breathtaking and unforgettable images from
beneath the world’s oceans are a combined product
of skill, technique and experience that has given his
photographs international recognition.
For him getting the perfect shot entails capturing
rarely seen creatures and behaviors with exquisite
beauty even if it requires travel to remote areas or
hours of waiting for that perfect moment.
His visual artwork is an inspiration and sets a goal for
artists and underwater photographers all over the
world.
He was born in Canada where he began his
underwater journey in the cold, rich waters
surrounding Vancouver Island.
In 2002, within a year of acquiring his first underwater
photographic system, the Canadian Association of
Photographic Arts (CAPA) awarded Steven the
highest honor with a Gold Medal for his Grand Prize
win in the British Columbia Underwater Photographic
Society international photo contest. Since then he
has placed over 80 times in International

He has also been published in numerous books and
magazines and his work has been displayed in the
Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in
Washington, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Koc
Science and Sea Museum in Istanbul, Turkey to
name a few.
In 2007, Steven Kovacs published a hard cover
coffee table book, “Magic Beneath the Seas”,
consisting of over 300 stunning images displaying the
beauty and wonder of life in the world’s oceans.

XImena Olds is a newcomer to underwater
photography, having purchased her first underwater
Camera system in 2011. However, in just her very
first year of shooting she has placed in 4 international
uwphoto competitions including an overall Grand
prize and a first place finish, beating out some of the
top underwater photographers in the world.
She prefers photographing underwater portraits in an
attempt to capture the subtle characteristics of her
subjects. Lately she has also been involved in
shooting underwater fashion projects.
When not diving for fun she is available for hire for
photo shoots above and below the water. Ximena is
also the founder of Immersion Photography, a
business that provides photo editing services and
instructional classes in Photography, Photoshop and
Lightroom. Traditional and fine art metal prints are
also available for sale from various artists.
